In our previous blog, Exploring Home Resolutions for 2021 [SN1] we explored Bosman plumbing suggested annual water and sanitation fixtures check.
As industry experts with over 25 years of experience, Bosman Plumbing understands that not all our clients will be wanting or needing an onsite inspection each year.
We have compiled a short checklist for ease of use, pop a copy in your yearly planner or on the fridge. Add a sticky note to your journal or if all else fails, nag your partner to check that sticky, drippy liquid staining your tiles in the kitchen.
Check, check and check!
Geysers – know your Manufacturer Code, Serial, and size. Midnight crawling in scary places to check for size for a blown geyser is not fun. Check support brackets, geyser blankets and drip trays. Stay awhile and admire the local wildlife. Don’t feed the roof pets!
Bath, mixers, and drains – Check seals and waterproofing. Check wet spots; puppy puddles don’t count. Make sure mixers function correctly; we do not like our nuts leaking.
Sanitaryware age and function – broken, chipped and stained fixtures age your home and reduce your investment in it. Make a note of future fixtures needing repair or replacement. Better yet, call one of our dedicated team members at Bosman plumbing to revamp of your favourite throne room.

In our previous blog, we introduced our very first Bosman plumbing concept blog; New year, new you[SN1]. During the next few weeks, we will be exploring these goals, teasing out the wants from the needs and guiding Bosman Plumbing clients in the right direction whether those goals include expert advice from our wealth of information and 25 years of experience in the industry, to the late-night call-outs for an emergency.
Our first step in this journey is water and sanitation compliance. In years past, general water and sanitation certificates were excluded from the regulatory Beatles, bugs, and electricity certificates. A recent client found herself in a pickle as her home was not compliant with the general inspection done post-sale of her property. A general inspection left her with a hefty bill addressing the non-compliant fixtures. These surprise issues could have been addressed with a simple walkthrough and inspection as well as general maintenance.
We all service our cars, maintain our health with regular medical visits, why not our sanitation fixture in our homes.
When last did you check for leaky taps, dribbling toilets or your geysers heath and thermostats setting? Having water leaks and a poorly installed geyser can cost you much more over the long run.

These goals can range from eating more greens, skipping that extra cup of coffee in the morning, though that might create a whole new problem, to renovating the kitchen of your new home.
